“In April of 2009 my elderly parents moved in with me. On February 5th of 2010, my Dad suffered a stroke and came home after 6 months of hospitalization and rehab. As Dad declined it was becoming more and more difficult for my Mom to be able to take care of my Dad alone as I work a full time job. Money for home care was an issue and I was concerned about depleting my parents’ savings account. I didn’t know what the future was going to bring.
A co-worker recommended Andy Kinne of the Kinne Planning Institute, a VA Benefits Specialist and CSA. I contacted Andy (since my Dad had served in WWII) and set up a meeting. Andy was able to help my Dad obtain a substantial Disability Pension Entitlement from the VA to help cover costs of home care. Andy made the process as painless and simple as possible. He offered suggestions, opinions, and options but left everything to my decision and did not pressure me to do anything I was not comfortable with or unsure of. Having the additional funds to assist in covering home care costs took the stress off me and it was a comfort to Mom. My Dad has since passed, but my Mom will be able to receive a portion of the entitlement (when the time comes) to help with her care for which we are extremely grateful.
I cannot find the words to express my gratitude for Andy’s compassion and assistance, not in just helping us to obtain additional funds to assist my parents but also for his approach in working with me to be ready for that day we may all have to face; losing a loved one. When that day came, my family was prepared and armed with information to take the necessary next steps.
Thank you, Andy, for helping to ease the financial burden when trying to give my Dad the best possible care during his end of life."

"I heard about Andy Kinne from a friend who thought he might be able to help me. My parents had not really planned for their future and with their health failing, I was faced with many fears and concerns about their future. How would I be able to provide for them and get their affairs in order? I didn’t even know where to start to try to get help for them and myself. It was a very dark and hopeless time in my life. I called Andy and within days I knew things were going to get better. He didn’t just give me suggestions, but took the lead and put me in contact with people who could help. The people he put me in contact with were excellent! I had a wonderful caregiver and all their legal paperwork done quickly! I found myself able to do what I needed to do which was care for my parents. He stayed in contact with me, following up and making sure I was getting all the help I needed. The best thing was that Andy didn’t just help me help my parents, but he gave me the support I needed during a very stressful and emotional time. He really listened and offered kind words and support. During a time when even my closest friends didn’t know what to say or do, Andy did. His support was priceless! I owe him a debt of gratitude that I can never pay and the best thing about that is Andy would never ask me to."

"In looking for help to care for my mother, I found Andy Kinne of Kinne Planning Institute online. I am so glad that I contacted him! His experience and breadth of knowledge about elder care issues and financial aid was instrumental to helping my family. Andy helped us wade through the confusing process to apply for financial assistance under the VA Aid and Attendance pension benefit program. Not only that, he went above and beyond to get us help on legal and tax matters as well. Without the help of Andy and Kinne Planning Institute, we would not have successfully applied for this valuable benefit. If you’re looking for knowledge, expertise, and a personal touch—go no further! Put your trust in Andy and the Kinne Planning Institute team!"Dennis A., Tinley Park, IL
“Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for your help in trying to obtain VA compensation for my mother. Due to your knowledge of the process that a person must go through just to submit a request and the contacts you put me in touch with to help file the claim was more than anyone could ask for. If anyone ever needs guidance in dealing with VA bureaucracy, I would highly recommend your services.”
